The economy is personal.
A new job. A higher grocery bill. A school budget. A decision to start a business. Economic policy reaches us in ordinary, consequential ways.
Give It Back for Jobs follows those connections. We cover employment, taxation, public spending, growth, and the way economic change shapes people’s lives. Our explainers give readers the context to assess the news for themselves.
What you will find here
News grounded in public releases. Analysis that explains what a number can and cannot tell us. Guides that unpack familiar questions without assuming that readers already speak the language of economics. Coverage of the creative economy recognizes artists, designers, and cultural organizations as part of the working economy.
Our approach
We link to the evidence, identify the periods behind economic statistics, and distinguish reported facts from interpretation. We examine tradeoffs rather than promise that one policy produces the same outcome for everyone.
This local edition was prepared on November 1, 2026. Its assigned issue dates span November 1, 2025 through October 31, 2026, with actual update dates shown on article pages. These assignments do not document historical publication or change the dates of the underlying evidence.
The name
The domain previously hosted a campaign about donating tax savings to charity. Today’s publication is independent of that campaign and its founders. Its broader concern with work, resources, and shared prosperity informs our editorial focus.
